if it counts, the doomsday proclaimer. he´s soooo cowl!
Oh yes, it counts. And yes, its really nice.
For the Ezoghul: well, do you remember the good ol´D&D times? When I got the AD&D monster collection in my hands for the first time, I had the impression they developed several monsters with the method "Lets create a monster by just rolling dice for it". So they made a list with "looks like from an ape, toad, insect, etc." and let the dice decide. E.g.:
"Lets make a new monster!"
"Ok, lets roll for the body." Roll, roll, roll. "Got it."
"And the arms?" Roll, roll, roll. "Here they are!"
"Now for the head!" Roll, roll, roll. "There is the result." And so on...
And this was my impression when I first saw the Ezoghul - a random result after an uninspired thinking session. Maybe they just wanted to have some dragons in the game because one of the developers was a fantasy fan. Dont misunderstand me - I dont dislike it, for me its just a little bit....uhhm, unimaginative.
I stick with the more humanoid monsters. My personal favourites are the Curator, the Spawn of Demnogonis and the Metropolitan Prophet, but also the Callistonian Intruders. Maybe because they remind me somehow of the Cenobites from
Clive Barker´s Hellraiser or the Breed from
Cabal (also a film by Clive Barker). For me these creatures are gross and ingenious at the same time. But, well, you know: de gustibus non disputandum est.
